Our extensive repertoire ranges from pantomimes to musicals.
Grease, Dodger! (Oliver), Annie, Pinocchio, Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, Cinderella, Dick Whittington, Snow White.
We are always adding more shows, which is your favourite?
Let us know and you could be the starring in that very show!
Our 6 week show course rehearse for two and a half hours one day per week for 5 weeks then a dress rehearsal on the 6th week followed by a fully costumed live performance for family and friends.
Week 1.
Read through the script followed by auditions for the parts.
Some children prefer to take a chorus role at first and others are straight in to speaking and singing roles. (Younger members who’s reading skills are not as developed are aided during the audition process)
Each script is a skeleton waiting for the children to dress it in their own way.
No two shows are ever the same as each cast stamps its own unique style on the show.
Songs can be added or removed depending on the abilities of the children, so the lack of a singing voice will not necessarily exclude a child from a leading role.
Weeks 2 to 5
With the show cast, rehearsals begin in earnest. Choreography is now being set for the chorus, with the main characters blocking their moves. For the following weeks we continue in this way gaining confidence and skills to produce a wonderful performance
Week 6
Dress rehearsal! We have now moved from rehearsal room to stage. A dress and technical rehearsal for actors and stage crew alike. This is followed by a public performance.
Fees are paid in advance. No refunds can be given after the casting of the show. (Unless a doctor’s certificate is supplied) We stress that taking part and experiencing the whole concept is the important thing. It is just as important to the show success to have a good chorus as well as strong leading players.
Many ex pupils who are now professional actors or teachers started by playing a tree and in some case the back end of the horse!
